NuFile Editor's Review

NuFile is an application that adds the "New File" to the Finder's contextual menu.

As a Windows and Linux user, starting to work under Mac OS X was a little harder because I’ve missed this kind of functionality. Since I found NuFile, this lack of functionality has been covered. It’s very useful and a real time-saver, especially if you are using a two-button mouse.

The installation of this package is pretty simple and so is its usage. You can enable/disable the templates from the application's 'Preferences' panel. You can find this panel under the 'System Preferences' one, since this program isn't like the other applications.

I like the possibility to customize this contextual menu and that you can edit the templates from the preferences panel. If the default templates aren't what you’re looking for, then you can write your own. For more details, check the producer's Website.

Pluses: it gives you the possibility to create blank files in two mouse clicks and the templates are highly customizable.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: if you don't like the absence of this kind of contextual menus then this tool is the right solution.
